The Monica Wooden Gas Lift Ottoman Bed comes in Double at W154.3cm x D199cm x H100cm and King at W169.3cm x D214cm x H100cm. It is built from an MDF frame with pine and multilayer board in an oak colour finish, with rattan-effect panelling on the headboard and footboard. The headboard stands 100cm high and the footboard 46cm, and the mattress (sold separately) sit on 30 multilayer board slats.

The base lifts on gas struts from the foot end to open a full-length storage compartment measuring H23cm x W139cm x L192cm on the double and H23cm x W152cm x L202cm on the king. That's the whole footprint of the bed, so spare duvets, pillows, winter bedding and suitcases go underneath instead of filling a wardrobe. The gas struts take the weight of the base and mattress, so it rises with one hand and stays open while you load it, and lifting from the end means you can reach the whole compartment without leaning across the bed. The 30-slat base spreads weight evenly and supports a maximum user weight of 300kg. The frame sits flush to the floor, so all of the storage is inside the ottoman and nothing slides under the bed.
